Duties and Functions of an Armed Security Guard
What are some of the functions and duties that an armed security guard will perform while on the job. One method that is instilled in many security guard officers today, is the practice to detect, deter, observe and you work method. Security guard patrolling are not required to make arrests, however they do have the authority to make a citizens arrest if need be. Therefore allowing them to act as an agent of law enforcement at the request of a police officer, Sheriff, and others.
An armed security guards first and foremost duty is the prevention and deterrence of any crime a security guard has the authority to enforce company rules engine can ask on those rules to protect the lives and property of those at stake. Many armed security guard patrol officers are required to go through additional training in order to be able to carry weapons such as batons, fire arms, mace or pepper spray while on the job. One such state that this extra training is a requirement, is California. Security guard patrol officers are required to carry a license for each item that they must carry while on duty. So do laws may differ for a security guard officer in Houston Texas, as opposed to a security guard patrolman in Los Angeles California, or Miami Florida.
